Orell Health is an independent publication covering everyday health and the money decisions attached to it. It is a small operation, not a media group, and this page describes it plainly so you can judge the source before you trust the content.
Who writes and who reviews
Two roles sit behind every article, and the byline names both. The Orell Health editorial team researches and writes the articles on this site, working from published guidelines and primary source documents.
Articles are then medically reviewed by a named clinician before they are published. The reviewer checks the piece for clinical accuracy, and the review date on each article is the date that check happened. Where an article relies on a guideline or a federal rule, it points to that source directly, so the evidence stands on its own as well.

Why this site exists
Health advice online is often either too vague to act on or too confident about evidence that is genuinely uncertain. The benefit rules attached to health care have the opposite problem: the source documents are accurate but close to unreadable. Orell Health exists to sit between those two failures, and to say clearly what the evidence and the rules actually support.
What we cover

- Health benefits and costs. How accounts such as HSAs and FSAs work, including the contribution limits and eligibility rules that change from year to year.
- Interactive tools. Calculators that let you run a decision with your own numbers instead of reading someone else’s averages.
Who it is for
We write for general readers making ordinary decisions, not for clinicians and not for tax professionals. The benefits and tax material assumes readers in the United States, because it is built on federal rules. Much of that material is most useful to readers aged 50 and over, so age based provisions such as catch-up contributions and the Medicare transition are treated as central rather than as footnotes.
